Inspired by sophisticated design and modern style, Calla Catering and Events LLC is the creative vision of co-founders, Kim Livesey and Francesco Oggiano.

Meet Kim Livesey

Hi, I'm Kim!

My passion for creating unforgettable celebrations has led me all over the country and fostered my career as Catering and Convention Services Manager at the Hyatt Regency Maui, Catering Coordinator and Consultant for Deja Blu Catering to owning our sister company, Kiss on the Chic Weddings & Events as a destination wedding planner, coordinating over 800 events from New England to Hawaii. That's a lot of champagne!

I bring my expertise in working for a venue, caterer and wedding planner to ensure you have a spectacular event!

Meet Francesco

Behind the scenes - meet Francesco!

Francesco's career has led him all over the world including Italy, France and as the head chef for numerous top catering companies around Boston! Francesco takes pride on hand selecting the freshest ingredients and seasoning each menu item to perfection so that the natural flavors shine! What set's us apart from other Boston Caterers is our philosophy to put the care and dedication into each event only taking on 1 -3 events per week so that we can focus on the quality of our events vs the quantity of events each week.

Our Story

Where it all began...

Calla Catering and Events LLC {rebranded in 2020} is the creative vision of co-founders Kim Livesey, Event Director and Francesco Oggiano, Executive Chef. Kim and Francesco met in 2014 during an event where Kim (a New England destination wedding planner at the time) hired Deja Blu Catering to cater one of her client's events. Francesco worked for Deja Blue as the head chef for the event. Francesco reported back to the owner of Deja Blu Catering that the wedding planner he worked with onsite was so wonderful and assisted with a seamless execution of the event. (He was a bit skeptical of wedding planners)! The owner of Deja Blu Catering just so happened to be looking to partner with an event planner to team up with to train how to run her day to day operations, assist with client communication, creating proposals and offering an in-house day-of coordination planning package option for stress free events. 

 

The Twist...

When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade... The owner of Deja Blu Catering sadly became sick during the summer of 2017 and could no longer continue on with her company. Together Francesco and Kim knew they would be a great team and decided to create the NEW Calla Catering and Events LLC with their first event taking place November 4, 2017. Calla means 'beautiful" in Greek and to us, we feel we cater the most beautiful celebrations! We transformed our company by focusing on the freshest ingredients, quality products, exceptional service, added value and providing a service that was not only a modern twist on the classics but focusing on what we call fun flavorful bites! Bites your guests will remember and rave about for years to come!​

Our Philosophy

  • We truly take pride in the quality of the product we provide. Calla Catering and Events LLC only takes  1-3 events per weekend and 1-2 events during the mid week to ensure we can focus on each and every client's needs. 

  • We do not get any menu ingredients delivered to our kitchen! Chef Francesco goes out, himself, and hand selects each and every vegetable, meat, fish, produce from all different markets to ensure the freshest and best quality ingredients!

  • We do not purchase anything frozen! We prep all of our menu items from scratch 1-2 days prior to each and every event!

  • Our executive chef is the one to season all menu items, which lends itself providing our clients an extremely consistent product!​​

  • What's included in the menu price?

    • The food of course! Yum!

    • Cocktail Hour: Passing Trays + Table Display

      • ​Choice of 3 different styles: white ceramic, rustic wood or hammered silver)

    • Buffets: Chafers, fuel, wooden risers, white ceramic serving ware, rustic wood boards, serving utensils

    • Plated: Salt + Pepper shakers for each guest table, bread basket + butter ramekin for each guest table

    • Cocktail Style: All serving platters to match your event style

    • Dessert + Coffee: Silver coffee samovars, white hot cups, wooden stirrers (option to rent: white coffee cup, silver teaspoons, 6" white dessert plate and silver fork)

  • Discounted in-house poly-cotton blend linens and napkins in a variety of colors (upgraded options, materials and colors available through our rental partners)

  • Rental order management at no extra cost! We charge you the same price as the rental company's retail pricing - including but not limited to: table setting (white rim china, silver flatware and water goblet), tables, chairs, cooking equipment, upgraded table settings, linens, decor, bar fronts, champagne walls, lounge furniture, etc...)

  • Beverage / liquor order management for consumption bars at no extra cost! We send clients a template and help place your liquor order through Gordon's Fine Wines - the client pays Gordons direct. The order is picked-up the day after your event and you are only charged for the un-opened items.

  • Custom menu proposals for each client! A la carte pricing to fully customize each individual event with the appropriate staffing and menu selections.

  • Transparent pricing so there are no surprises later on in the planning process (including: menu, staffing, bartending, rentals if needed, optional day-of coordination, taxes, admin fee, and suggested gratuity)

  • Optional In-house day-of coordination packages to help you enjoy your special day! This service includes: creating a detailed timeline, event diagram, site visit, set-up and break-down of all personal decor items, managing all vendors on the day of the event and the flow of the day so you do not need to worry about what comes next!

  • Easily Accessible! You can reach our sales team at any time with questions via e-mail, phone or text - we are here to help and want you to enjoy the planning process!

Calla Catering was an outstanding catering company to work with for our rehearsal dinner for our sons wedding. The food, service, presentation were spectacular. Our guest kept saying it was the best rehearsal dinner food they ever had. I would use them again for any occasion. They were easy to work with. We had more than enough food for all. They took care of every detail. Again I can not say enough great things about them!

Once you love your menu and feel excited about your proposal it's time to move forward and secure your event date!

One of our clients favorite part of the planning experience is their private tasting where you can try your EXACT menu items!

Not only did Calla Catering design and serve up the most delicious menu at our wedding, but they also helped to plan and coordinate all of the details so we were able to fully enjoy the big day. Even when they ran into inevitable challenges (some rentals showed up late) the Calla team worked to find impromptu solutions so that we didn’t have to worry about a thing and our timeline stayed on track. Kim was our day of coordinator and we couldn’t have done it without her!

Kim really understood that we wanted to stick to a budget, and she helped us by offering a variety of choices and making the right recommendations for linens, food, drinks, and planning. To be honest, paying for the day-of-coordination was the best money we spent on our wedding (besides the dress of course!). Kim and Linda made the day stress free and went above and beyond and really understood our vision.

Hiring Kim and the team at Calla Catering to be our wedding caterer and coordinator was hands down the best wedding decision we could have made!
